Hoover’s, LinkedIn to offer 20M in-depth profiles

Hoover’s and LinkedIn have partnered to provide b-to-b professionals with an interface to use LinkedIn networks within the context of Hoover’s business data.
The partnership will allow Hoover’s clients to prospect within LinkedIn networks based on existing connections. Hoover’s maintains the names of more than 80 million people. With LinkedIn, the company estimates it will have 20 million in-depth profiles matching LinkedIn information to contact names on Hoover’s.
“A lot of our customers in sales may be [looking at our site and] may also be looking at LinkedIn at the same time to get their job done,” said Lindsay Duran, product marketing manager at Hoover’s. “This partnership helps sales professionals to use their existing network to get an in and connect with key decision-makers.”  
Hoover’s expects the integration to be complete next month.
When asked which company began the discussions about the partnership, Duran said only: “The conversations about this have gone on for a long time, so it would be hard for me to say who approached who about it.”
A LinkedIn representative could not be immediately reached for comment.
