Group 1 Software, a provider of customer relationship management software and services, said last week that it has received Canada Post Corp.’s regulatory approval of the new version of its SortStream Canada postal presort solution.
SortStream Canada presorts mailings according to CPC regulations and provides postal savings to direct marketers at every level and category of postal service.
SortStream Canada has also been recognized by CPC’s Software Evaluation Recognition Program and supports the Jan. 14, 2002, Canadian postal rate increase for domestic Lettermail rates.
Letters, cards and postcards up to 30 grams, destined for the United States, will increase by 5 cents to $0.65. There will be a 20-cent increase to $1.25 for letters, cards and postcards to other foreign destinations.
In the fall, Canada Post will announce proposed rate increases for the addressed ad mail products, which most Canadian direct marketers use. The rates for that category, which includes catalogs, will be implemented in April.
Lanham, MD-based Group 1 said the software would work with these rates as well.
SortStream Canada also now meets the requirements of the U.S. Postal Service’s Global Direct Canada Admail program. This program, offered in alliance with CPC, provides U.S. direct marketers more convenient, cost-effective and timely delivery of marketing materials and periodicals into Canada.
With prior versions marketed as Mail Canada Plus, SortStream Canada has been renamed to comply with CPC naming guidelines.
