Grizzard Adds Pennsylvania Sheriffs

The Pennsylvania State Sheriffs' Association hired The Grizzard Agency, Atlanta, to handle direct marketing fundraising.

As agency of record, Grizzard will create programs to increase donor and community awareness as well as boost the donor base and develop cultivation strategies. The Pennsylvania association previously did fundraising in-house.

“It really boils down to generating positive results, both from a fundraising perspective and an overall perspective,” Grizzard vice president Scott Kimbro said. “This is by and large a citizen direct program to build better bonds between the sheriffs and the communities they serve and to support important law enforcement initiatives.”

Grizzard, part of agency holding giant Omnicom Group Inc., has handled fundraising DM for state sheriffs' associations nationwide since 1967. The agency handles 25 individual associations, with collective campaigns each year touching 10 million people.

Duties for the Pennsylvania association include acquisition of members, retention and cultivation of donors and supporters, and special projects. The resources raised through such DM helps the association run summer camps for underprivileged children and community outreaches to learn more about law enforcement. Kimbro runs all sheriffs' associations' accounts for Grizzard.
