GenieKnows.com signs search deal with Yahoo

GenieKnows.com, a search company that is part of IT Interactive Services Inc., has signed a search-distribution deal with Yahoo that will give it access to Australian- and Canadian-sponsored search listings.

“The strategy is to target GenieKnows.com’s Canadian- and Australian-based users with sponsored-search listings that deliver relevancy along with a geographical focus that is unmatched,” said Mark Harper, vice president of strategic relations at GenieKnows.com.

The terms of the deal are confidential.

Yahoo’s advertiser listings will be shown alongside the natural-search listings generated by the GenieKnows.com vertical-search engine. Yahoo’s sponsored-search listings will appear across all GenieKnows vertical engines and selected network partners.

“We hope to offer a more comprehensive and broader search query match rate to GenieKnows.com users and publishers within the search network,” Harper added.

GenieKnows.com will launch its games vertical version 1.0 in June, with a health vertical and local-search function remaining in beta form, which is expected to launch in version 1.0 in the coming months.

For marketers who use the GenieKnows.com business-to-business pay-per-click platform, the deal means they could gain a higher level of relevancy for the geographic areas covered by this agreement.

“The GenieKnows.com customer experience will be enhanced and amplified,” Harper continued. “Yahoo advertisers will also have the benefits of being exposed to the GenieKnows.com health and games vertical search platforms – plus selected premium publishers – and result in extremely targeted and high-quality search traffic.”
