Flavorpill and Current TV use e-mail for consumer generated video contest

Culture and arts focused e-mail magazine Flavorpill teamed up with cable station Current TV for a consumer generated promotional video contest.

The promotion seeks video content from viewers that focus on culture, reflective of Flavorpill’s cultural news content and Current’s short video documentary style.

Flavorpill, New York, will be promoting the event in its weekly e-mails that are sent out to more than 300,000 subscribers in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and London. The weekly e-mail newsletter features news about events in the fashion, music, technology and art world.

Flavorpill is also partnering with the Guggenheim New York for its First Fridays parties, M3 in Miami and DJ lounges at the fall for Dance in New York and at Wired Magazine’s NextFest.

The Current TV promotion is accepting submissions of videos two to seven minutes in length, called pods. Entries can be uploaded at www.current.tv/flavorpill.

Submitters can enter an unlimited number of pods. Winning videos will pay submitters $500 for each of the first two, $750 for a third and $1,000 for each one chosen after that. All winners will be hosted on the Web site that has more than 29 million users.
