Experian, Costa Mesa, CA, acquired three of its affiliate credit bureaus, the company said yesterday, calling it the first in a series of acquisitions to be completed over two to three years.
The affiliate bureaus are AQM Information Solutions Inc., Brockton, MA, which serves 2,500 clients nationwide; Credit Bureau of Dalton Inc. in Dalton, GA; and Credit Bureau of Kingsport in Kingsport, TN.
Experian's network of 38 affiliate credit bureaus provides clients in specific geographic areas with a variety of services utilizing consumer credit, business, automotive and marketing information from Experian.
The company said one benefit of this acquisition program is that once the affiliate is integrated, its business clients will have access to all Experian products and services including portfolio management, collections, scoring and a complete suite of fraud prevention solutions.
“Since the mid-1970s, we have had a mutually beneficial relationship with our affiliate credit bureaus,” said Rick Gallagher, senior vice president of corporate development for Experian. “However, integrating the affiliate channel into Experian North America will enable us to offer all our clients a more seamless interaction with Experian and a full range of products to help them optimize relationships with their customers.”
