EToys yesterday agreed to buy select assets of eCompanies' eParties unit for $1.6 million in stock.
The company bought rights to the eParties name and certain proprietary technology that allows for customization and personalized party planning.
EToys, Santa Monica, said the deal will help the company launch an online party store later this year.
