Etelos launches CRMforGoogle

Web-based application provider Etelos Systems Inc. has launched CRMforGoogle, a fully integrated customer relationship management application that is integrated into Google’s business software platform.

Available as a limited beta release, Renton, WA-based Etelos, said CRMforGoogle gives a business, large or small, the ability to communicate with clients, prospects and partners effectively and easily.

The Application give users the ability to automate client follow up, manage tasks, share schedules and manage projects all in Google’s easy-to-use interface already in use by thousands of businesses.

The announcement follows Google’s unveiling on Feb. 22 of Google Apps Premier Edition, a new version of Google’s hosted services for communication and collaboration designed for businesses of all sizes. Google Apps Premier Edition is available for $50 per user account per year and includes phone support, additional storage and a new set of administration and business integration capabilities.

Google Apps, launched as a free service in August 2006, is a suite of applications that includes Gmail webmail services, Google Calendar shared calendaring, Google Talk instant messaging and voice-over-IP, and the Start Page feature for creating a customizable home page on a specific domain. More than 100,000 small businesses and hundreds of universities now use the service. Google Apps Premier Edition now joins Google Apps Standard Edition and Google Apps Education Edition, both of which will continue to be offered free to organizations.

Procter & Gamble Global Business Services (GBS) has enrolled as a charter enterprise customer of Google Apps.

If successful, Google’s business software suite could expand the revenue base of the world’s dominant Internet search company beyond search-related advertising, reshape the way businesses deploy their productivity and collaboration software, and pose a direct threat to Microsoft’s largest profit center.

The initial beta period for CRMforGoogle is by invitation only. Once out of beta, CRMforGoogle will be available in three versions – Personal, Professional and Enterprise. The Personal edition will be free to users and the Professional and Enterprise editions will carry a monthly subscription.

The Enterprise edition will enable businesses to customize every aspect of the application and also give them the ability to select any hosting environment they choose and integrate other software.

CRMforGoogle offers limited integration with Google Calendar and Google Spreadsheets. Further integration with those and other GMail and Google Docs is planned.
