Epsilon Hires Powers to Direct Strategy

Rob Powers, a digital agency veteran who helped Mobil develop the Speedpass early in his career, has been named the first SVP of strategy and growth at Epsilon. He is charged with growing the global marketing services company’s retail and consumer packaged goods vertical and working closely with agencies to deliver on plan.

Powers was present for the onset of digital marketing, starting at McCann Erickson in the mid-80s before moving to DDB in 1994 to work with clients like Mobil and Digital Equipment Corp. on integrated campaigns.

Powers traveled on to Modem Media and then to Digitas as SVP of accounts in 2004, where he managed both B2B and B2C client activities in traditional media such as TV and print, as well as in website development, social, and mobile. He was managing director of Digitas’s Moxie unit before taking the Epsilon post.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rob to our growing team as we continue to build momentum for our data-driven creative agency. Epsilon’s proprietary data assets currently fuel big ideas for many of the largest brands in the world,” said Richard McDonald, who leads Epsilon’s strategy unit.
