Endowment, Center Honor Quad Founder

Quad/Graphics will donate $1 million to a local technical college to upgrade a graphics communication education center that henceforth will be named after the printing house's late founder, Harry V. Quadracci.

Waukesha County Technical College, near Quad/Graphics company headquarters in Pewaukee, WI, changed the name of its Graphics Communications Center to the Harry V. Quadracci Printing and Graphics Center this week. The Quad/Graphics donation will provide money for future equipment upgrades and scholarships for students interested in careers in the graphics arts.

Quad/Graphics obtained part of the money for the endowment via a dollar-for-dollar contribution effort raised after Quadracci drowned July 29. Company employees, clients and vendors donated about $500,000 to the campaign.

In addition, press manufacturer Heidelberg has donated the use of a Quickmaster DI 46-4 Digital Imaging Press in Quadracci's name to the center. The donation represents the first digital press to be installed at the center.
