eCoupons.com Extends Its Reach

eCoupons.com, Los Altos, CA, will kick off a partnership with Mapquest.com next week by placing two local coupons on each of the millions of maps and driving directions printed each month from the Mapquest.com site.

This is the beginning of a $5.7 million, three-year strategic partnership the two sites formed earlier this year.

Other similar partnership deals will be announced in the near future, according to Dinsh Guzdar, vice president of business development for eCoupons.

“We’re building out our network for distribution of coupons. There are a number of other sites that want to have coupons that are local and targeted,” he said. “Coupons are relevant, value-bearing content.”

Through the Mapquest.com partnership and others, the site hopes to serve 1 billion coupons a month by this fall.

“At the end of the day, we try to provide positive return on investment for merchants by distributing their coupons at the right place at the right time for the right consumer,” said Guzdar.

eCoupons.com claims to have a network of local merchants from 86 percent of all ZIP codes within the United States.

To increase its user base, eCoupons launched an affiliate program last week. The program was created by Commission Junction, Santa Barbara, CA. It offers affiliates 50 cents for each new user acquired.
