Dreamforce Crowd Digs Mobile

A survey of 200 Dreamforce attendees last week indicated that mobile technology had taken over as the dominant conduit of CRM functionality. Some 78% of them said that their work lives had been “dramatically improved” by mobile this year. Only 58% made the same claim last year, according to Seismic, the sales enablement systems provider that conducted the poll. Other findings:

  • Tablets top smartphones among the sales set. Seventy percent said they used the larger-format devices more frequently to access CRM.
  • Seventy percent, too, said they spent more than two hours a day in Salesforce, a 20% increase over last year.
  • So jacked are they on mobile, 82% expressed faith that wearable devices will prove useful to them in the future.

But does mobile-enabled CRM help sales and marketing teams collaborate better than they have traditionally? It’s a toss-up. Half of respondents said the units worked well together at their companies, half said they did not.
