*DoubleClick 4Q Up, Still Losing Money

Internet ad network DoubleClick, New York, last week reported $29.1 million in revenue and a net loss of $4.4 million, or 25 cents per share, for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31. The company's fourth-quarter revenue was up 40 percent from the third quarter's $20.8 million, which also resulted in a net loss — $4.7 million or 28 cents per share. DoubleClick reported $80.2 million in revenue for the year, up 162 percent from 1997's $30.6 million, with a net loss of $18.2 million. Meanwhile, DoubleClick reported it has renewed No. 1 client Alta Vista's advertising services agreement and signed the search engine to a three-year deal.
