DMC to Market LTS Database

Database Marketing Concepts will begin handling next week all broker and agency contact for List Technology Systems Group's Technology Resource Database of more than 14 million names.

“LTS saw a need to approach brokers and agencies through a dedicated effort by a third-party company with experience in that market,” said Peter Candito, DMC president. Candito and Tom Taylor, president of LTS, agreed that this is a strategic relationship that benefits both companies. It also allows LTS to concentrate on direct account relationships, Taylor said.

The database, which was launched in 1979, is composed of more than 200 individual hi-tech lists. File types include magazine and newsletter subscribers; seminar and conference attendees; book and video buyers; and business product and service buyers. Participants with multiple lists on the database are Advanstar Communications, CMP Publishing, IDG Communications Inc., Miller Freeman and PennWell Publishing.

Geography, job title, job function, business type, computer type and software applications are some basic selects across the database. Selections can be combined in a number of ways for precise targeting, and duplicate names are eliminated automatically.

Dell Computer, IBM, Microsoft and Sun Microsystems are among companies using this database.

DMC and LTS are both list management and brokerage firms working in the business-to-business and technology markets.
