DirecTV Broadband will use SBC Internet Services' Yahoo DSL as its preferred product for more than 70,000 DirecTV Broadband customers, the two companies said last week.
The deal covers Broadband customers in 13 Midwest and Southwest states, with more than half of the 70,000 customers living in California and Nevada.
Hughes Electronics Corp. said Dec. 13 that DirecTV Broadband would discontinue its DSL service and move existing customers to alternative service providers. DirecTV Broadband, a Hughes subsidiary, will remain in operation until at least Jan. 16, the company said.
