DirectQlick.com Sues Former Employees

Direct marketing services provider DirectQlick.com Inc. took its former chief technical officer and a salesman to court for $10 million in damages.

The two defendants, former CTO Kevin Bever and sales executive Charles Newsome, are accused of misappropriating trade secrets, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and violations of agreements.

DirectQlick, Newport Beach, CA, also alleged the duo inflicted “real damage and/or sabotage to our network and infrastructure.” The case was filed in the State Superior Court of California in Santa Ana.

“We think this may rise to the level of criminal activity, but we are investigating further,” said Mike Carney, president of DirectQlick.com Inc.

“Because of the damage, our capacity was disrupted and has been diminished short term, but we expect to be back to full capacity by the end of Q3,” he said. “Our case seeks a preliminary injunction as well as damages.”
