Dickinson Advances SunTrust

Dickinson Direct, Braintree, MA, is promoting Atlanta-based SunTrust’s PC banking program to its top customers.

“What the bank feels is that its best and most lucrative clients are hi-tech oriented, and they would be the ones most likely to perceive and receive added value from the program,” Steve Dubin, spokesman for Dickinson Direct, said last week. “It is also a way for them to become better bonded with the bank.”

The bank’s PC banking system allows the customer to perform all banking functions — including transferring funds, making deposits, paying bills, reconciling checkbooks and applying for a loan — from their home or office computer.

The offer, which is being presented to customers in Georgia and other states in the Southeast where the company does business, encourages customers to try the new service at no charge for the first year. Currently, the direct marketing materials are being mailed in two formats. A three-panel self-mailer brochure is being tested against a letter package consisting of a brochure, a personalized letter a personalized reply card and a return envelope.

Results are not yet available for the campaign, which began mailing earlier this summer and will continue on an ongoing basis. Dubin would not say how many customers the bank has contacted through the campaign.
