DHL Expands Ohio Logistics Facility

DHL will invest $4 million over five years in the build-out and expansion of DHL Columbus Commerce Park — DHL's third-party logistics facility at Rickenbacker Air Industrial Park outside Columbus, OH, the express and logistics company said yesterday.

One hundred fifty jobs will be created.

As part of the initial phase of the build-out, DHL recently moved into a 190,000-square-foot facility, more than doubling the warehouse space available to meet the third-party logistics needs of customers and to let additional customers co-locate at DHL Columbus Commerce Park.

Columbus Commerce Park was designed to support supply chain management services to DHL customers and facilitate rapid access to DHL's primary air and ground hub at the DHL Wilmington Air Park, within one hour's flying time to 60 percent of the U.S. population.

DHL customers that co-locate at Columbus Commerce Park and in Wilmington benefit from later shipping cut-off times to fulfill same-day orders.

DHL, Plantation, FL, provides full-service third-party logistics solutions at Columbus Commerce Park, including warehousing, inventory management, fulfillment services and transportation management. The $4 million outlay includes investment in new material handling equipment, leasehold improvements and warehouse management systems.
