Deutsch LA, Golin/Harris Among Business.com’s New Partners

Business Internet services startup company, Business.com, New York, is signaling that the launch of its initial advertising and marketing campaign may finally be imminent following announcements last week confirming its communications partners, which now include advertising heavyweight Deutsch LA; public relations firm Golin/Harris International, Chicago; Internet services company Organic, San Francisco; and marketing agency UPSHOT, Mountain View, CA.

Although the company has yet to announce an official launch date, it notes that each of the firms will work with Business.com on its upcoming branding and marketing campaign as well as its planned strategic mix of offline and online advertising, public relations and guerilla marketing initiatives.

Jake Winebaum, acting chief executive officer of Business.com and co-founder of eCompanies, claimed the partnership of companies would soon alter the way the world looks at business.

“We’ve created a powerful team of experts who will work closely together to launch the site that will change the face of business,” Winebaum said. “The team possesses both extensive Internet branding experience and a shared passion and enthusiasm for Business.com and its mission.”

Although Business.com has clearly aligned itself with high-powered firms, the firm still hasn’t launched even a basic Web site, but is encouraging users to pre-register for “a preview.”

In the meantime, eCompanies, the firm behind Business.com, promises to “harness the power of the Internet” and to help professionals turn “information chaos” into knowledge, quickly and painlessly, by organizing the mass of available information into a “consumer friendly” Web site. eCompanies, Santa Monica, CA, was begun by Sky Dayton and Jake Winebaum.

Deutsch LA clients include Mitsubishi Motors of America, Ikea, Microsoft’s Expedia.com, Snapple and Domino’s Pizza. Golin/Harris International’s clients include Amazon.com, Texas Instruments, McDonald’s and Nintendo of America. UPSHOT’s clients include Anheuser-Busch, The Coca-Cola Company, Discover Card, Ford Motor Company, and J.E. Seagram & Sons. Organic’s clients have included Barnes & Noble, Blockbuster, CDnow, Deja.com, and The Home Depot.
