Demandware hires Tom Ebling as CEO

E-commerce platform company Demandware has named Tom Ebling CEO. He previously worked in the same role at Lattice Engines, a business-to-business maker of sales and optimization technologies.

Ebling is charged with increasing adoption of the Demandware platform. The company’s clients include Barney’s New York, Zabar’s and Anne Klein. Demandware will also emphasize partnerships with other service companies during his tenure, he said.

“The company is at a stage where if it scales well, it could grow into a much bigger company,” said Ebling. The hire was announced February 16.

Ebling has worked in software technology for the past two decades. Prior to Lattice Engines, he held the CEO position at ProfitLogic, a retail technology company that was acquired by Oracle in 2005. Ebling was also CEO of Torrent Systems, a data warehousing and analytics company acquired by Ascential Software in 2001.

Ebling also serves as director of the board of VFA, a planning and management services company, and as chairman of the board of directors of International Development Enterprises.
