Convio, a provider of online constituent relationship management solutions for nonprofit organizations, has acquired GetActive Software Inc.
Both companies are recognized as eCRM software and services vendors within the nonprofit sector.
Convio, Austin, TX, plans to use the addition to provide Internet solutions aimed at helping nonprofit organizations build fundraising, marketing and advocacy campaigns.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. It is expected to close by the end of the first quarter.
Convio aims to leverage GetActive’s advocacy, its content management platform and the company’s services operation based in Washington.
The combined company will serve more than 1,400 clients.
Convio has helped its customers collectively raise more than $500 million since its beginning in 1999. Clients include the American Red Cross, American Diabetes Association, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Avon Foundation, Sierra Club and Easter Seals.
The acquired GetActive suite includes e-mail messaging, fundraising, advocacy, events, community and Web site management.
GetActive, Berkeley, CA, brings with it more than 800 clients, including The Humane Society of the United States, Oxfam America, U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the University of California.
