Business intelligence software provider Cognos, Burlington, MA, said yesterday that Kennametal Inc. will use Cognos Enterprise BI Series 7 and Cognos Enterprise Planning Series to manage customer buying behavior and sales performance.
Kennametal is a metal-cutting tools manufacturer organized along four global business units: Metalworking Solutions and Services Group, Advanced Materials Solutions Group, J&L Industrial Supply and Full Service Supply.
“Cognos will allow us to access more information, more easily and more quickly,” said Joe Amundson, Kennametal's global database marketing manager. “Our sales force will be able to quickly analyze, view and record data and trends about a specific customer prior to contacting that customer.”
The deal is worth more than $1 million.
