Clinton Rejects InfoUSA President’s Gift

A $7,000 treadmill sent to former President Bill Clinton by database company InfoUSA CEO Vinod Gupta has been returned, according to a story in yesterday’s New York Post.

The treadmill became the center of a mini-scandal this week after the Post reported in its Page 6 gossip column that the Clintons had received the exercise equipment as a gift for their Chappaqua home.

Gupta donated $1 million to Clinton’s presidential library fund, has stayed overnight in the Lincoln Bedroom and was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts before Clinton left office, according to the report.

A Clinton representative told the Post that the treadmill was returned because the Clintons already had one and was not returned because of a perceived lack of interest.

Gupta was traveling in India and did not comment.
