Pat Wheelless will receive the first Chicago Association of Direct Marketing Pat Wheelless Award for Mentoring at the association's 45th annual meeting Aug. 8.
Wheelless, the recently retired president of The Wheelless Group and current consultant to the Wheelless/Bennett Group, was president of the CADM in 1996-97.
The award recognizes a spirit of professional generosity characterized by the encouragement of professional growth of other direct marketing professionals over the course of a career.
Wheelless, who has been a mentor to hundreds of professionals in her role as direct marketing executive recruiter and industry leader, will give the keynote speech, focusing on mentoring and related topics.
The meeting will be held at the 410 Club in Chicago.
David McSweeney, vice president of business development at World Marketing Integrated Solutions, will assume the presidency for 2001-02 from Mitchell Lieber, who will become immediate past president and will remain on the board of directors.
Neysa Bennett, president of Wheelless/Bennett Group; Kathy Linehan, a database marketing consultant; and Carol White, director of marketing at Practice Development Institute Inc., will join the board of directors.
