Cataloger Pays $25,000 to Settle Delivery Complaint

Taylor Gifts Inc. has agreed to pay $25,000 to settle a complaint alleging that it failed to deliver products consumers ordered from its national print and online catalogs, the Pennsylvania attorney general's office said yesterday.

In a seven-count lawsuit filed in February, the state attorney general's office said the cataloger failed to deliver products ordered, deliver incorrect items and delivered products after the advertised delivery time and the maximum time allowed by law. Under the settlement, Taylor Gifts, Paoli, PA, will pay a $20,000 fine, $5,000 in investigation costs and staff a national toll-free hotline to help consumers in obtaining reimbursements.

The company operated the Taylor Gifts, Kitchen & Much More and Get Organized brands. Under the settlement, Taylor Gifts will register these brands as required by law.

In addition, Taylor Gifts agreed to changes in its billing and return policies. These include refraining from charging a customer's credit card until an order is processed and fulfilling its satisfaction guarantee policy regardless of the time it takes a consumers to return a product.
