Call_Solutions Buys Sturner & Klein

Call_Solutions Inc. has purchased telephone marketing agency Sturner & Klein Inc. for an undisclosed sum, the teleservices provider said yesterday.

Sturner & Klein, Rockville, MD, generates annual revenue of $13 million. It has 600 employees and operates call center facilities in Boise, ID, and Flagstaff, AZ, in addition to the operation at its headquarters.

Sturner & Klein's clients include America Online, Architectural Digest, Fortune, The New Yorker, Scientific American, National Audubon Society, National Geographic, American Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution and the Bureau of National Affairs. The agency specializes in reactivating association memberships and publication subscriptions that have lapsed and performs business-to-business and business-to-consumer telemarketing.

Sturner & Klein is one of seven companies that have received the Direct Marketing Association's Telephone Marketing Excellence Award since 1985.

The deal represents Call_Solutions' 14th acquisition since its founding in August 2000 by entrepreneur George Dalton. Adding Sturner & Klein to the Waukesha, WI-based chain of companies will bring Call_Solutions' overall annual revenue to $70 million, according to Call_Solutions.
