CALL CENTER OPENINGS: Able Energy Opens NJ Center for PriceEnergy.com

Able Energy Inc., Rockaway, NJ, this month said it would open a 9,800-square-foot call center in Rockaway Township, NJ, that will serve as the headquarters and call center for PriceEnergy.com, Able Energy's new electronic distribution Web site. Able is a holding company for several operating companies that provide services related to heating oil, diesel fuel, propane and natural gas. The company said the center would be used to support all aspects of customer service.

Advanced Data-Comm Inc., Dubuque, IA, this month said it would expand its Ashland, WI, call center from 34 to 72 workstations and add 50 employees. The company, which opened the center in March, said the new positions would be used to support new contracts and the expansion of existing contracts.

ICT Group Inc., Langhorne, PA, said this month that it would open a new, 48,000-square-foot contact center in Spokane, WA. The center will initially employ about 120 customer service representatives, but it is expected to eventually employ about 600 people. ICT — which provides outsourced call center services in North America, Europe and Australia — said it is expanding its operations to support the increased demand from telecommunications firms, technology companies and other businesses for Web-enabled customer management services.

Millennium Teleservices, Edison, NJ, said this month that it would open a 10,000-square-foot call center in Providence, KY, in a building that previously housed an auto dealership. The Web-enabled center, which will employ more than 224 agents, will be the company's fifth call center in Kentucky and its 31st call center nationwide.

Precision Response Corp., Fort Lauderdale, FL, this month opened a 64,000-square-foot call center in West Mifflin, PA, that will accommodate up to 1,200 employees. PRC, a division of USA Networks Inc., said the center would serve clients such as AT&T, American Express, priceline.com and Ticketmaster. The opening was financed with the assistance of a community development block grant from the Allegheny County Department of Economic Development for call center equipment acquisition.

TD Waterhouse Investor Services Inc., Toronto, said this month it would open a new call center in Ottawa early next year. The Canadian discount broker said the new facility would increase its capacity by 28 percent and accommodate up to 250 representatives. TD Waterhouse opened a new call center in Markham, Ontario, and plans to open another facility in Edmonton, Alberta, this fall. The moves will add a combined 750 workstations and boost the company's call center capacity by 84 percent.
