British rock magazine invades U.S.

British rock music weekly NME celebrated New York’s CMJ Music Marathon by unveiling its plans to expand its brand into the United States.

This includes a regular Club NME NYC residency at the Gramercy Park Hotel and East and West Coast news desks for its Web site.

Club NME NYC will feature performances from up and coming rock bands. The announcement follows the launch of Club NME LA at Spaceland in September and the opening of Club NME Dublin at The Hub last month.

The New York club will take its permanent residency Dec. 15.

The magazine’s Web site at www.NME.com is the No. 1 music site in Europe with 19 million page impressions monthly and 1.6 million users. The site features music news, reviews and features. It contains 15,000 stories in its database.
