Bob Evans Restaurants and Food Products has named Brunner its advertising agency of record. The multimillion-dollar account was won following a competitive review. The incumbent agency was Chicago Creative Partnership.
Mary Cusick, SVP of restaurant marketing for Bob Evans, said Brunner was a good fit because it “makes really smart creative choices and bring sgreat strategy and insight.” She said that one of the goals for Bob Evans is to contemporize the brand, which launched in 1962.
Cusick said that the majority of the company’s advertising is done through traditional channels like broadcast, TV and radio, but that the company also does digital online advertising, some e-mail, social and interactive marketing.
“We haven’t cracked the code on how to use social media most effectively, so that’s something we’ll work with Brunner on,” she said.
The company already has presences on Facebook and Twitter.
Cusick added that Bob Evans announced the account win to Brunner two weeks ago, and that the companies are finishing up preparing the contracts to sign.
“We want Brunner to help understand our core guests and how to appeal to them,” Cusick said. “We want to continue to make the brand relevant in today’s marketplace.”
Brunner’s other clients include GlaxoSmithKline, GNC, The Dow Chemical Company and Zippo. A representative from the agency could not be reached by press time.
