Closes Down, an online cosmetics retailer, closed its virtual doors yesterday — one year after opening — citing inadequate capital to make a profit.

The company let go of most of its 30 employees in Chicago, New York and Indianapolis. It will keep a small staff for the liquidation of its assets.

In addition to BeautyJungle, the company also launched the business-to-business e-marketplace in September.

The company posted a notice on its website today saying that all orders placed on the and sites by Nov.10 will be processed and shipped. Customers will be notified if their orders were not shipped and no credit charges will be incurred. was among the associated companies of Internet holding company Divine interVentures Inc.
