Baseball Hall of Fame launches new Web site

In July, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum launched a new Web site with expanded content, an exclusive Members Only area, an online Museum Store and tools for planning a visit to Cooperstown, NY, where the museum is located.

The site was designed to be the definitive online resource for fans of the museum and of baseball history and offers people who can’t make it to Cooperstown a virtual glimpse of many of the historic pieces in the collection.

Visitors to the site can subscribe to the Museum’s free weekly e-mail newsletter, view plaques of all 280 Hall of Fame members, watch videos of past induction ceremonies and Hall of Famer video bios, and access other historic audio and video clips. Enhanced content and access to exclusive events is available in the Members Only area. The site also feature content for educators.

At the end of July, the site was home to coverage of the 2007 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, featuring the inductions of Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken Jr. Throughout Hall of Fame Weekend, visitors to the Web site were able to watch the festivities in Cooperstown.
