Search engine firm Ask Jeeves Inc. named TBWA/Chiat/Day, San Francisco, to handle advertising as agency of record and OMD to buy media.
TBWA's duties include strategy as well as creative development and execution. Its London office handles Ask Jeeves' British search engine site at Ask.co.uk.
Ask Jeeves, Emeryville, CA, claims it is returning to advertising after a two-year hiatus, though it did sporadically run online ads.
Separately, the company recently upgraded its Ask.com site. New tools and the Smart Search feature aim to improve online searches.
