Army & Air Force Exchange Service picks StrongMail e-mail platform

The Army & Air Force Exchange Service has selected StrongMail Systems Inc.’s platform to support its e-mail marketing programs.

The military retailer will use StrongMail, Redwood City, CA, to send e-mails to active duty, reserve, National Guard and retired service men and women and their families worldwide.

Using StrongMail, AAFES will be able to identify delivery issues and optimize e-mail campaigns based on performance. The platform will also help AAFES speed up the delivery of its e-mail marketing campaigns.

AAFES is a joint military command of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force that offers products to authorized customers through its retail stores, catalog and Web site at www.aafes.com. The retailer has 3,100 facilities in 30 countries and offers more than 25,000 products through its Exchange Online site. The retailer posted sales of $8.7 billion in 2005, the last year reported.

StrongMail’s technology integrates a complete set of delivery, tracking and management capabilities into a single platform. Its bounce management technology is designed to help gain visibility into e-mail delivery rates with steps to correct wrongful Internet service provider blocks or failures.
