Arizona State Begins Nonprofit Training Program

The Arizona State University Center for Nonprofit Leadership and Management will launch Public Allies Arizona this fall, an apprentice program for nonprofits.

The three-year renewable grant places 25 young people in 10-month apprenticeships in nonprofit partner organizations. The grant is estimated at $900,000 for the entire training period.

The program will focus on Phoenix nonprofits during its first year and will emphasize strengthening communities of color.

Young adults aged 18-30 will receive training in professional and leadership skills. Once matched with a nonprofit organization, they will be responsible for projects designed to impact the community.

Those interested in becoming Allies must apply by Aug. 16. Applications can be found on the program’s Web site at www.publicallies.asu.edu.
