Anchor Computer Acquires Mirus

Anchor Computer Inc., a direct marketing software and data processing services provider based in Farmingdale, NY, earlier this month acquired Mirus Ltd., Plano, TX.

The software provider, which was founded in 1985, is well-known for its LetterWriter system, which enables direct marketers and printers to use high-speed laser printers for direct marketing purposes. The system can be set up and driven by a personal computer. The latest version of the LetterWriter system, Mirus’ ImageMaker, provides high-volume mailers with a solution for their processing needs.

“The acquisition of Mirus expands Anchor Software’s product line and customer base [and] enables us to capitalize on Mirus’ proven organizational infrastructure,” said Gary M. Siegel, president of Anchor’s Software Products division. “We can now offer the highest level of support available in the marketplace. In addition, Mirus’ product development capabilities provide a catalyst for further development and enhancement of our product offerings.”

Siegel will have direct operational responsibility for managing Anchor’s software business activities. This will include merging Mirus’ current offerings with Anchor.

“The acquisition of Mirus fits Anchor’s strategic plan, which identifies software and services as the major building blocks for offering solutions to the direct marketing industry,” said Len Schenker, president, Anchor Computer. “We are dedicated to providing the most comprehensive data processing services, software and solutions for direct marketers.”
