American Family Enterprises Taps Brian Wolfe

American Family Enterprises, Jersey City, NJ, parent company of stampsheet marketer American Family Publishers, announced on Friday the appointment of Brian Wolfe as president/CEO of the company, effective Nov. 22.

Wolfe will be responsible for day-to-day sales operations for the company. He replaces Susan Caughman, who was named chairman of AFE. Wolfe will report to the AFE board of directors.

“Brian is a first-rate direct marketer, an inspiring and focused leader, and a natural mentor and team builder with an impressive history of business achievement,” said Caughman in a statement. “He is a superb choice to head the AFE team and will help to build a stronger company and take advantage of opportunities to diversify our direct marketing businesses.”

A 15-year veteran of Time Inc., Wolfe is currently vice president of Consumer Marketing for Sports Illustrated, where he oversees the magazine's core business and many of its franchise extensions. Among the innovations he introduced during his three-year tenure at SI were continuous service and partnership marketing programs.

AFE will announce shortly the details of a settlement with a group of class action litigants. Caughman, in her new role as chairman, will focus primarily on the speedy resolution of AFE’s remaining litigation and on a smooth business transition. In addition to serving as chairman of AFE, she will be pursuing her own online business initiatives as well as serving on the boards of several start-up companies.
