The perception that its only teens that are texting is way off. I still hear it from marketers from time to time, but the fact that both of my sixty something parents are texting me on a regular basis and that my grandparents know what it is, is a sign that everyone is texting. According to new research by mobile messaging company Tekelec, 60% of over 45 year olds were found to be just as likely to use SMS as they were to make voice calls from their mobile device. Mobile marketing SMS campaigns should no longer be reserved for just teens.
