Alcone hires McMahon as EVP, shopper solutions

Michael McMahon will join Omnicom Group consumer activation agency Alcone Marketing Group as EVP of shopper solutions on March 21. He will lead the agency’s shopper and retail marketing practice in the newly created position.

McMahon will be responsible for “bringing shopper and retail solutions to our current clients as well as to new prospects,” said William Hahn, president and CEO of Alcone. McMahon will be based in Alcone’s Darien, Conn. office and report directly to Hahn.

“He will bring these solutions to clients regardless of industry or channel,” said Hahn. “We will use comprehensive shopper data and analysis to create impactful programs for retailers be it at the store or online.”

McMahon previously served as SVP of integrated customer marketing at ConAgra Foods. He previously worked at Alcone as EVP of accounts services.

Hahn said Alcone did not look internally to fill the position, nor did the company use a recruiter. Asked why the new role was created, Hahn said: “[The shopper and retail marketing space] is an evolving and emerging space as connectivity with consumers is becoming a significant interest for retailers.”
