AGENCY BRIEFS: Troy Group Names FCB Worldwide for Campaign

Troy Group Inc., Santa Ana, CA, has named FCB Worldwide to handle a national ad campaign for its eCheck Secure e-commerce software. FCB was chosen for its advertising experience with e-commerce marketers, Troy Group said. FCB's Internet clients include Amazon.com, Bex.com and Oinke.com. Troy aims to make eCheck Secure the dominant player in the e-commerce payment arena.

• Bravo Marketing, San Francisco, has been appointed agency of record for Crescendo Ventures, an 11-year-old venture capital firm that invests in technology companies. Bravo also will handle public relations for Crescendo, Palo Alto, CA, which specializes in early-stage start-ups in the communications and Internet markets. Founded in 1995, Bravo boasts technology clients such as ValueClick, Simplexis and cascentral.com.

• NourzAds, Austin, TX, has been named agency of record by promoOrder.com in a pitch for the $500,000 account. The agency will handle branding and creative strategy, direct mail, trade show promotions and collateral materials. Also based in Austin, promoOrder is an application service provider that serves the $15 billion promotional products market.

• McCann-Erickson WorldGroup, part of The Interpublic Group of Companies, has agreed to sell AdWare Systems Inc., a global media management application service provider, to Mediaplex Inc. The $27.3 million cash-and-stock acquisition will allow Mediaplex, an ad technology company, to offer ad agencies, advertisers and other partners online and offline media management solutions for agency accounting, media buying and digital asset management. McCann will remain an AdWare charter client for five years.
