Acxiom Eyes Another European Data Provider

Acxiom Corp. has made an offer to acquire several European branches of data provider Consodata from Seat P.G. for about $37.5 million in cash, the Little Rock, AR, company said yesterday.

The acquisition would include Consodata companies based in England, France, Spain and Germany. Seat P.G. would retain ownership of the Italian and the U.S. Consodata operations. The transaction is expected to close in the fiscal quarter starting April 1, according to Acxiom.

Consodata's products include consumer lifestyle and behavioral information and would be rebranded with the Acxiom name after the deal closes. Consodata serves clients in financial services, retail and media.

“The Consodata acquisition will be another step forward in our strategy of providing a full complement of services for businesses wanting to succeed in the pan-European market,” Acxiom Company Leader Charles D. Morgan said in a statement.

In January, Acxiom acquired Claritas Europe, which consists of operations in England, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Poland.
