ActiveNames Picks FloNetwork as Reseller of Its Address Correction Service

ActiveNames, New York, an e-mail change-of-address service, announced today that it has agreed to let FloNetwork, Greenwich, CT, become the exclusive U.S. reseller of its services.

As an ActiveNames reseller, FloNetwork said it becomes the only e-mail marketing services firm to offer Internet-based address correction services to its clients and its clients' customers.

ActiveNames employs a two-pronged business model that seeks to provide businesses with an address correction service similar to the U.S. Postal Service's National Change of Address, but for e-mail. And for consumers, it seeks to provide software that gives them an automatic way to notify their family, friends and other important contacts every time they change their home or business e-mail address.

The service differs from the USPS' NCOA because it gives consumers the ability to control who receives the new address. Users can select from an automatic update, which gives the new address to every person who sends an e-mail to the old address, or a manual update, which allows users to pick and choose who receives their new e-mail address.

“In order to effectively manage our growth in the coming months, we have decided to select FloNetwork to be the exclusive reseller of the ActiveNames service to businesses,” said Nimo Steinbock, CEO of ActiveNames, in a prepared statement. “FloNetwork has a tremendous knowledge of direct marketing and, more importantly, an understanding of the importance of an e-mail change-of-address service to businesses.”

According to ActiveNames, more than 25 percent of e-mail addresses change annually.
