AARP, Bank One Launch 'No Telemarketing' Visa

AARP and Bank One announced the launch yesterday of a jointly marketed credit card, the AARP Rewards Platinum Visa, which promises AARP members no telemarketing along with 1 percent back on all card purchases.

The card represents the relaunch of a 5-year-old joint marketing Visa card program, according to AARP, which has been a supporter of state and national no-call lists. The no-telemarketing promise echoes a similar pledge made by Capital One Corp. for its Hassle-Free card offer.

Highlighting the AARP Rewards Platinum Visa is its rewards program. Cardholders earn points equal to 1 percent of their purchases, which they can convert into $25 cash back or gift certificates for merchants, restaurants, gas stations, travel and entertainment after they accumulate 2,500 points.
