Harte-Hanks, San Antonio, last week reported a net income for the third quarter up 61 percent to $16.9 million compared to $10.5 million for the same period last year. Operating income increased 30 percent to $26 million. Earning per share grew 57 percent to 22 cents while revenues jumped 18 percent to $183.4 million. Harte-Hanks' direct marketing division reported an operating cash flow and operating income growth of 22 percent. Other third-quarter highlights for the company included the expansion of its response management services to the hi-tech industry through the acquisition of Cornerstone Integrated Services, Austin, TX, the creation of its pharmaceutical sales organization and the development of its three councils in the products and technology areas that will determine direction, improve communication and monitor development activities.
