Personalized Web service, Planet Direct, Andover, MA, announced a strategic agreement with direct Internet service provider AT&T WorldNet Service that will give AT&T members direct access to all of Planet Direct's personalized content and community features. Among some of the features are continually updated news headlines, real-time stock quotes, sports and entertainment information, and localized content for more than 380 cities across the US.
Planet Direct maintains a proprietary service (news, shopping areas, chat rooms, etc.) that includes a gateway to the Internet, but it isn't on the Internet. It gives its content to Internet service providers to offer to their subscribers, and in turn makes money selling targeted banner advertising.
