The Audio Book Club Inc., Boca Raton, FL , said yesterday that it has added more than 4,500 new members each month via the Internet, up from just 300 in January bringing the company's overall base to about 340,000 members. The company said the increases were a direct result of its aggressive online marketing strategies, which also had yielded an increase in Web-site hits, from about 1 million in January to more than 11 million at press time. Norton Herrick, chairman/CEO said the growth more than validates the company's strategic business plan. Audio Book Club is a direct marketer of audiobooks through membership clubs Audio Book Club and BooksAloud.com, which focus on sales via the Internet.
