Adobe Systems, Agfa Corp., Heidelberg and MAN Roland announced a job ticket specification program this week designed for print and Internet publishing firms to improve process automation, collaborative workflow and asset management. Called Job Definition Format, the system works with graphic and content production systems from various vendors while allowing each client the technology for messaging, file management, job tracking and workflow formats. Adobe, San Jose, CA, Agfa, Wilmington, MA, and Heidelberg and MAN Roland, both of Germany, did not say which of the printing firms would brand the program.
