EverAd Inc., New York, said Friday that it will be rolling out a new MP3 player within the next two weeks that will be wholly advertiser supported. The PlayJ, which has been available for download only from tucows.com for the past month, will be updated to include banner ads that are downloaded at the same time as a song. The company has secured advertising from more than 250 companies and plans to market the player to other sites either alone or through a plug-in for use with other players such as WinAmp.
