SeekBooks.com, Sarasota, FL, and Gardners Books, East Sussex, UK, yesterday said the companies launched a joint effort to offer independent booksellers in the United Kingdom their own Internet bookstores with no up-front fees or monthly charges.
The new Web sites include content customized for the United Kingdom, more than 250,000 in-stock titles and book related features, including current book reviews, bestseller lists and author interviews.
The program, based on a similar one initiated by SeekBooks in the United States last fall, allows book sellers to use a default template that can be customized with the store name, slogan, contact information, logo, a store description and up to seven titles.
SeekBooks processes the orders placed on the sites, collects payments and provides customer service. Gardner Books will fulfill the orders and market the service in the United Kingdom.
