Xeikon, Chicago, recently unveiled its D2F2 technology, which features in-line digital photo finishing capabilities.
The D2F2 produces photo prints through a combination of Xeikon's continuous tone printing technology — with selected paper substrates — and the company's color management software.
Other features include imaging at 600 dots per inch of variable text, graphic elements, logos, borders and backgrounds. A choice of finishes is available, including gloss or satin varnish and laminate.
In addition, the system can print approximately 8,600 photo prints per hour or 144 prints per minute. Xeikon, a print technology/management firm, did not disclose pricing on the D2F2.
