Meals.com Cooks up Recipes for Coupons.com Users

The coupons for the chicken, frozen vegetables and pie crust are in hand, but how exactly do you make a chicken pot pie?

Meals.com will be serving up the answer — as well as 9,999 other recipes — as it partnered yesterday with Coupons.com.

“In addition to saving money on groceries, Coupons.com users will have the inspiration and tools to plan and shop for better meals,” John Melin, vice president of business development at Meals.com, said in a statement.

The recipes for appetizers, main dishes and desserts will be sorted by cuisine and cooking method. Nutritional information and cooking advice will also be included.

“We have always wanted to feature the best recipe and meal planning content on the Web,” said Steven Boal, president/CEO of Coupons.com. “Our partnership with Meals.com brings the best to our users.”

Meals.com connects shoppers, grocers and manufacturers through online and in-store technologies, such as Shopper, a terminal that provides personalized offers.

Meals.com, founded in December 1999, is a subsidiary of Coinstar, a coin-counting and e-services company.

ValuePass.com, an online incentive marketing company, acquired the Coupons.com domain name in January for several million dollars.

The company enables shoppers to print coupons when they are online or offline via a Web-enabled application.
